ADC Creative Index: Hochschule Niederrhein Maintains Top Position in NRW

Department of Design at Hochschule Niederrhein Remains Creative Number One in North Rhine-Westphalia

The Department of Design at Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) continues to be the creative number one among universities in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). This is according to the ADC Creative Index published by the Art Directors Club (ADC).

In the ranking, HSNR took second place in the creative disciplines “Brand Identity/Brand Design,” “Brand Communication/Advertising,” and “Digital Products/User Experience.”

Additionally, the Department of Design is pleased with top placements in the craft disciplines “Spatial Experience/Extended Reality” (7th place), “Graphic Design/Motion Design” (6th place), and “Copywriting/Storytelling” (6th place).

“The creative industry is in transition, and communication design has become more diverse, which makes orientation more difficult for students and universities. The ADC Creative Index provides a much-needed navigation system that helps to better understand and purposefully engage with the wide range of creative fields,” said Professor Richard Jung, Professor of Communication Design at the Department of Design at Hochschule Niederrhein.

The ADC Creative Index is published annually based on the most successful works submitted by students and graduates over the past three years as part of the ADC Talent Award. This year, over 80 public and private universities from Germany and Austria with creative departments took part in the competition.

The Art Directors Club for Germany (ADC) is the leading institution for promoting creative excellence in the communications industry and brings together creatives from all disciplines. Through numerous initiatives and projects, the ADC strengthens the reputation and appreciation of the creative industry and emphasizes the importance of creative communication achievements for business and society.
