Rhein-Kreis Neuss showcased itself with start-ups at the Future Tech Fest

A wide range of technological innovations was showcased at the Future Tech Fest held at the Böhler site in Meerbusch. Around 5,000 guests attended the event, which was opened by District Administrator Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke and Düsseldorf’s Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller. The start-up fair under the motto “The Future of Tech” was held as a follow-up event to the Digital Demo Day and was organized by digihub Düsseldorf/Rheinland. In addition to the state capital Düsseldorf, Rhein-Kreis Neuss is a shareholder of the Digihub alongside the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mönchengladbach Economic Development Corporation.

District Administrator Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke emphasized that the fair has developed into a central platform for impulses and networking in the start-up and founder scene: “For us at Rhein-Kreis Neuss, but also personally for me, it is an important concern to promote entrepreneurial spirit, bring people together, and shape the future. I am pleased that the Future Tech Fest provides important impulses that encourage exchange between start-ups and already established companies.” Petrauschke pointed out that Rhein-Kreis Neuss strengthens the start-up scene with its municipal support programs and supports start-ups in their development.

This year as well, the Economic Development Agency of Rhein-Kreis Neuss was represented with a booth at the Future Tech Fest. It presented its own innovation support programs Accelerate_RKN and INNO-RKN and appeared together with several start-ups from Rhein-Kreis Neuss. The start-ups normify, Campus Cruiser, fior, Fosh, nutriz, and SimParQ, among others, shared their positive experiences with the district’s programs in direct exchange with visitors. Contributions to the stage program came from the successful founders Florian Kriependorf of ScrapBees from Neuss and Elisabeth Schloten of Kiotera from Meerbusch.

District Economic Affairs Officer Dr. Martin Stiller emphasized: “The Future Tech Fest, with its international audience, is an important building block for networking and engaging start-ups. We, as a district, support the start-up scene, which is developing dynamically. Innovation plays a central role in shaping the future of our region.” Popular among the Future Tech Fest guests was the guided tour with companies as part of the Innovation Valley Garzweiler project. From Rhein-Kreis Neuss, the companies Adapt Vertical Mills, RheinLand Versicherung, PWFT, and D’Art presented themselves during this tour.

At the Economic Development Agency’s booth, Robert Abts, head of economic development, together with Dominik Hintzen and Chiara Bacchiocchi, informed about funding opportunities for innovative founders. “The Future Tech Fest gives us the opportunity to present our programs to a large audience. The start-up ecosystem has developed enormously, and the great response and interest in our funding programs show us that we are well positioned here,” explained Robert Abts.
